More than four and a half centuries of history
The monastery’s recorded history reaches back to 1568. Churkinsky Hermitage experienced flourishing, closure in 1919, the destruction of its cathedral and bell tower, and the return of monastic life in spring 2004.

Come in peace and prayer
Churkin settlement, Volodarsky District, Astrakhan Region. The monastery is open to visitors daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Organised groups should arrange their visit in advance.
